Child Abuse

In a recent case, a Texas judge was caught on tape beating his daughter, and he will not face charges. What is the justice system telling victims of abuse? Child abuse is a criminal act that too often is overlooked.  Neighbors hear the cries and say, that is their problem.  Doctor’s see the bruises and believe that the child is simply accident prone, teachers see the signs but remain silent because they like the parents.  Who is there to speak for a child?  This one criminal act carries a life long sentence on its victims, as they are placed in mental prisons of shame, doubt, guilt, and depression. Child abuse is not always physical.  Mental abuse is even worse.  When a child is taught to honor thy mother and thy father, where is their peace with God knowing that they must honor those who abuse them?  It is not against the law to use corporal punishment to discipline your children, but ask yourself, do you really have to? When speaking to your child do it from a place of love, and use positive reinforcement instead of negative.  The children are our future. When a child is abused you rob yourself of your future leaders, doctors, and lawyers and this is counterproductive to us reaching our goals – Unity

  1. I think this is one of the most vital info for me. And i’m glad reading your article. But want to remark on some general things, The site style is ideal, the articles is really nice : D. Good job, cheers

  2. Thank you so much for your comments. I am still getting the knack of using this site. This was an article to make everyone aware of a silent problem that’s having a major impact on our communities. If you see something, say something, was what I was shooting for. If people step up, than people like the judge will not be able to just walk.
